TiNC Works! is creating innovative products and services to help network managers get a better understanding how their network is performing. Employing technologies such as Internet-of-Things and Cloud services, these new products are much more affordable than current offerings in the market. While the core product may be of most interest to network engineers, the information it provides through off-site data analysis and trend extrapolation will be of great interest to IT managers as well: with this level of insight, upcoming bottlenecks can be avoided by upgrading only key parts of the network - which maintains user satisfaction while optimizing allocation of operational and capital expenditure.
The Automated Network Consultant
Our core product is theTANC Field Unit - which sits quietly in your computer network at key locations, ready to run the diagnostic tasks you need to find out what's going on inside your network. And all the while it's running scheduled monitoring tasks to give you long-term insights into the performance of your network, such as baselines vs. anomalies and trend extrapolation to predict upcoming overloads. TANC Field Units are based on off-the-shelf hardware and open source software to keep the price modest, without sacrificing on capabilities or performance: the units have a full 1 Gbps LAN port as well as an 802.11 b/g/n Wireless interface, coupled with a 4-core CPU, all wrapped up in a neat little package to fit into any wiring closet or data center rack. You can even deploy a virtual unit on your cloud-hosted virtual data center. TANC Field Units are controlled remotely through a messaging API, so there is no direct interaction requiring odd security loopholes: commands are authenticated, authorized and logged according to your policies, and collected data is stored securely on our cloud service. Collected data can be integrated into your existing monitoring tools, e.g. by providing data API's and component SNMP. This way your IT department's main dashboard can be enriched with insightful performance values in addition to the traditional "if it's not broken, it's OK" traffic light displays.
